Anyone still here? I don't blame anyone for giving up on my blog! I think a big part of me has given up on it myself! But I said I would see it through to one year so that's what I'm going to do.
I haven't written in awhile because I haven't felt very much like writing. I've started a couple of posts only to stop mid-sentence and exit Blogger. It feels forced and there's nothing worse than reading something that didn't really want to be written in the first place.
On top of that we've been doing some renovations in our house. Well, hubby and his contractor friend have been doing the actual work while I have been trying to keep me and Jr out of the way as much as possible. Monday we went to our friend's country house with her and her daughter. It was actually a lot of fun and something I would definitely do again. I was pleasantly surprised at this revelation because you never know what more than 24 hours with someone will be like. But thankfully we're both take naps types of people and watch movies when the girls have gone to sleep.
We arrived home Tuesday afternoon to find a house turned upside down. Dust everywhere. Can't go in the kitchen. Can't go in the dining room. Can't even let Jr on the floor. So for Tuesday afternoon and all day Wednesday we stayed in the basement. I had work to catch up on so while the thought of escaping the house seemed like a blissful idea, I really needed to finish some stuff.
Thursday we went to play group where my sister Malt_Soda and my niece Jelly Bean joined us for the first time, which was really cool. It was also nice to have my sister there when Jr was pulling multiple hissy fits because she repeatedly wanted to climb up into her stroller. I would pull her down because she wouldn't sit on her bum and then she would freak out and MS would take Jr in her arms and console her.
After play group I dropped Jr off at my in-laws, which was a wonderful break. I didn't have to worry about how I was going to feed Jr and keeping her away from the mess. It was once again a time of worrying only about myself and all I wanted to do was sleep so I went home and napped in the spare bedroom in the basement.
Thursday marked the end of the renos, thank God. While hubby drove his friend home, I started the long and arduous process of cleaning up. Because anyone who's done renos knows that the dust will not go away after just one cleaning. And this dust gets EVERYWHERE. In every crack and crevice. In every nook and cranny.
Thursday night we went to see a movie and this morning we slept in -- till 9:00AM baby! Yeah! I think that's the longest we've slept in since before Jr was born. I still marvel at what "sleeping in" has become.
I promise I'll try to be better about writing until the end of my blogging journey. Thanks to those who stuck around! :)
