Day 9 of the Letter Writing Challenge

First, Happy Birthday to my niece, Jelly Bean! Yes, we share the same birthday and the same middle name, after my maternal grandmother and her maternal great-grandmother! Pretty special. I also want to congratulate my sister, Malt_Soda, for making it through Jelly Bean's first year! Way to go!

So I'm 28 today. I'm still feeling okay about getting older. It seems like most people have issues with 30 creeping up on them but I'm not there yet. I think it's like my mom (or was it my dad?) who said that for the next two years I'll feel young because all of my siblings are now in their 30s but I, alas, am in my 20s. So sorry sibs! :)
I was in chapel last night (hubby and I signed up to be substitutes) thinking about my age and I was happy with what I have accomplished so far. I've received higher education, I got married, bought a house and had a baby! Sure, to do that in almost 30 years doesn't seem like much but considering I did all of that within 10 years is pretty great. I'm excited to see what God has in store for me for the next 30 years.
Also, I was reading some of the prayers and messages in the binder that is available for people to write in while in chapel and I realize how blessed I am. One woman prayed that God find a job for her husband and if it wasn't too much trouble, to find her a job too. Another person asked God to heal someone with cancer. It puts things in perspective. The biggest problem hubby and I have right now is losing weight. It seems silly in comparison. So yes, I'm blessed and thankful on this birthday.

Dear Someone I Wish I Could Meet (a.k.a. the person who would find/have the perfect job for me),

I know you're just waiting to meet me. You have this position, this job, that needs to be filled. You're looking for someone with creativity, sensitivity, smarts, a good sense of humor and someone who can work well in a team but also alone. You want someone who can write and write well. Someone who listens attentively. It's a job that lets me work from home but that requires me to go out from time-to-time, too. When you meet me, it won't be in an interview but rather in an informal setting. You'll be the friend of a friend and it'll be by chance. You'll talk about your work and I'll listen enviously. By the end of our conversation, you'll casually mention this position you've been trying to fill and suggest that I would be perfect for it. I'll modestly but eagerly agree and tell you that I would love to do it. I'll have a job, a regular paycheck and I'll be contributor to the family income.
I'll keep this job until retirement and one day, I'll meet a young person who was once in my shoes and I'll extend to them what you extended to me: a helping hand, an encouraging word and the perfect job.

Sincerely,

The Perfect Fit
