Snot = Sleeplessness

     What a night! Jr. is sick. I remember posting awhile back that she had a runny nose and wasn't exactly up to par. My sister-in-law suggested it could be teething. I think she was right because man, that was nothing compared to what Jr. is like now. She can't breathe very well through her nose, so it's difficult for her to eat, to suck on her suess, to SLEEP... She was up every 2 hours at first and then it was every hour and then back to every 2 hours. I can't remember the last time I got so little sleep (which is a good thing, I guess!). I feel bad for her because we all know what it's like to have a runny/stuffed up nose. I just wish I could blow her nose for her! We used this boogie-sucker that one of hubby's old co-workers told him about. You put it in her nostril and then suck with a little tube so that all the mucus will come out. You don't suck it up because there's a filter. But the snot doesn't even reach the filter, at least in my case. I don't want to suck too hard because I'm also sucking air from her nostrils too. The first time I did it, she was a little shocked. Now she knows what it is and she does not like it! But it helps a bit. We also elevated her crib mattress with a binder and put a humidifier in her room. Otherwise, there's not much we can do but wait it out.
    And what are you supposed to do about toys? Do you wash them each day so that she doesn't keep touching the germs? Do you wait until the cold is over?
    I can't wait until this is over. I'm guessing tonight will be another no-sleep situation. Please pray for us and send your good, healthy vibes our way! Thanks!

  1. Do you use saline solution? It helps to break the snot up. Let me know if you need me to bring some over!
