Bread & Bean

Last night we went out for dinner with hubby's side of the family to celebrate his grandmother's 80th birthday. It was a buffet restaurant, which is great because everyone gets to eat exactly what they want. Hubby and I thought Jr would go crazy with the variety of food to choose from. She's such a good eater and she'll eat just about anything. So what did she eat? Bread. That's it. That's all. Bread.

Never assume that because 99% of the time your child acts a certain way they will act that way when you want them to.

It didn't help that someone had accidentally let go of a helium balloon and it was stuck on the very high ceiling. She kept pointing at it as if to say, "Look! Get it! Get it!"

For the most part, though, she was in a good mood and that's really what matters.

My sister is in Philadelphia with her hubby and my niece, Jelly Bean. Did you know that Philly is home to Sesame Place?? Jelly Bean is a year old like Jr but my sister was pleasantly surprised how much Jelly Bean could still do. Apparently the Elmo Show (with Mr. Noodle's nephew, Mr. Noodle) was a huge hit and they saw it twice. My favorite part (by looking at the photos) was seeing Jelly Bean meet Big Bird but especially Elmo. It's the most adorable thing you've ever seen! I wonder what it's like for the person in the Elmo costume, to have kids run up to you, shriek in delight and hug you like you're their long-lost best friend?? Anyhow, I would take Jr there in a heartbeat if it wasn't a 14-hour drive away!

  1. Totally worth it, even with the long drive! Philly is a great city, and Sesame Place was my favourite part!
