Yesterday was a blah day. I really didn't have energy or the desire to do much. I managed to call and make our dentist appointments. I did some work for my dad. I took care of Jr. I could have done more. There's laundry to be done and more Christmas shopping to do... Last night I went to bed feeling down but I decided that I wasn't going to have the same day today. I was going to get out of the house. I woke up this morning to Jr. babbling in her crib (it's a great sound to wake up to). I was a little confused because it was still very dark. I looked over at the clock and it said 7:30! 7:30?! Why is it still so dark?? I looked outside and the streetlight was still on and it was raining cats and dogs. It is now 9am and it is still so dark out that the streetlight is still on. It's still raining. Who wants to go out in that kind of weather if you don't have to? Especially with an infant! I might be tempted to go to the mall just so I can leave the house but now that there's only 10 days till Christmas, no day or time is safe from the mad shoppers. Earlier this week I went to Walmart at 10:30am and the parking lot was already full. I hate that I haven't finished shopping. I normally try to get it done well in advance so that I don't have to deal with the hordes of people. Unfortunately, this year I wasn't so organized. I must say that having a baby has changed the way I do a lot of things!
Speaking of Jr., she still has her cold. It's been over a week now so I'm getting a little concerned. I spoke with the nurse who facilitates the Child Development course and she said that if Jr.'s mucus turns dark green, yellow or brown, if she has difficulty breathing, if she is very lethargic, we should bring her to the doctor; there could be an underlying infection. Her mucus has turned yellow but her breathing is fine and while she is taking longer naps, when she's awake she's her usual self. We have an appointment for her 9-month check-up on Tuesday so we'll wait until then, barring any major changes.
