Selling Yourself with Humor

    Last year my parish advertised in the local newspaper during Advent (the month or so before Christmas). We were hoping to lure people in for the Christmas Masses and hopefully they would like it so much they would come back! I just went to a meeting last night and was told I have the go-ahead to create new advertisements for this year.
      Last year we did the following (not exactly these but the message is the same):

    HHmmm, interesting idea. Did your ad campaign work last year?

    Hard to say. Before last year we didn't count how many people attended each of the Christmas Masses. The donations, however, were higher than the year before. But whether that was due to the ads, who can say?
