After discussing my blog with my hubby, I've decided to continue writing until August 29th, which will make it one full year. A lot can happen in three months -- you never know, I could be inspired to continue beyond that point!
Yesterday hubby went to play in yet another golf tournament. It was for a charity that was founded by a fellow church-goer, whom I'll call Hank. When he heard that hubby's company sponsored him for last week's golf tournament, he asked if they would be interested in sponsoring him for this one. Lucky for everyone, they did.
I drove up afterward to join them for the dinner. I drove Hank's wife, Betsy, as well. The golf club was a little further than St-Jerome, which is about an hour and 30 minutes away from our place. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived after only two hours on the road during rush hour traffic. The drive there went well too. Sometimes car rides go by quickly and other times not so much, depending on the conversation. But Betsy was very sociable and we're alike in the sense that normally our hubbies drive us everywhere and we never pay attention to the roads. So she was a great co-pilot and very understanding when I wasn't sure if I should take the 15 North or South (for a native Montrealer this would be obvious if you want to get out of the city but my sense of direction is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E).
The golf club was rustic and the surrounding area just gorgeous. We were near the "mountains" (I can't really call them mountains but they're bigger than hills) and I got a kick out of the chalets on top of the mountains. Who owns these places?? Spectacular.
The dinner itself was "meh". Beef that was almost bloody, sausages, potatoes... Meh. The most interesting part of the evening was when everyone at our table except one man won a door prize. It was mostly golf stuff but luckily Betsy works for Avon and brought some "girly" items. I chose a small jewelry box that looks like a purse when you close it and inside were matching earrings and necklace. Hubby chose a new golf glove.
All in all it was a nice evening. But I don't know that it was worth the $80 we paid the sitter when we got home. She had to be at our place at 3:30 and we got home at 10:30. Don't get me wrong, there's no amount too high to keep my baby safe and happy. But when you pay to get out of the house you want to make sure you're going to have a great time.

Yay, I'm so happy to hear to you'll be writing until Aug. I always enjoy reading your daily musings!
