Putting Negativity in a Headlock

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY! D'YOU HEAR ME???

I am so ready to have a good day. No, not just a good day. A GRRREAT day! My dad says think positively and positive things will happen to you. Think negative thoughts and you create a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Sometimes when I hear him say stuff like this I want to punch him in the neck. (Love you, Dad!) After all, there's a time for positive thinking and there's a time for moping/anger/tears!

But today is a day for positive thinking. I'm going to seize my father's many expressions about thinking happy thoughts and squeeze out every last drop of sunshine.

I will NOT worry about what Jr's mood will be like.

I will NOT mull over the many things I need to get accomplished.

I will NOT focus on how tired I am or how crappy I feel.

I will NOT stress about what my daughter eats and doesn't eat.

I WILL go for a walk today.

I WILL sit and play with my daughter without any thought to the long list of things I "should" be doing.

I WILL take a nap today.

I WILL appreciate the many blessings of being a SAHM.

Take THAT, negativity!

  1. My mother's the EXACT same way. Sometimes it drives me nuts but I see the value in having a positive outlook. No one said it was easy….especially when life throws us curve balls!
Most days I just try to take a deep breath and deal with the road ahead.
So enjoy your day because it WILL be an amazing!
