Here you have it! The nursery! I wish I had photos from before I even started. It was originally painted in a pale green and beige-y cream color, which had become dingy and very dirty over the years. It was filled with cabinets and moving boxes and had a long metal bar running along the wall for coats and robes. Not to mention the dirt and cobwebs! Yuck!
As you can see from the last set of photos, it's not absolutely finished yet but my painting job is done! It's also not very bright, but the third photo down on the left-hand side is a better representation of the color. The photos on the left are taken from the door inside the church and face the classroom. The closed door is the entrance into the choir loft, which is no longer being used. It was suggested we allow parents to take their kids to play in the choir loft but after looking at it with my sister, we agreed it wasn't a good idea. Too many stairs to fall off of. I've heard some people discussing ripping out the choir loft and creating an actual play area for children with a huge plexiglass wall so that parents and kids can see what's going on during Mass. Wouldn't that be cool!
I'm really pleased with how everything turned out. The janitor will be cleaning the floors today so tomorrow morning I'm going to set everything up. I'll be sure to take another set of photos!

Great job! I'm really impressed!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! You really picked great colours. What was a dingy room now looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteLooks Great! Good job. I'm sure moms are going to love having the space.
