Well Everything is so Glorious!

Jr. and I are pretty much back to normal. I'm glad it's over and done with. 

Yesterday we were watching Curious George with Jr. I don't enjoy Curious George because he's always getting into trouble. Even though The Man with the Yellow Hat always tells George to "be a good little monkey" he never listens and does whatever he feels inclined to do. It drives me crazy. Everything works out in the end, of course, but I just wish George would be good in the first place (which wouldn't make for a very good kids' show, I know).  I was listening to the words to the theme song as Jr. clapped along and then I was kind of envious of George:

Everything is marvelous and wondrous and glorious! He loves life to the fullest. Every moment presents an opportunity to explore and learn and appreciate what life has to offer.

Last night my parents came over for coffee to see how everyone was feeling. My mom commented on Jr.'s sparkly eyes and mischievous smile. "Then I look at you and your siblings and I wonder: when did you lose that sparkle in your eyes?" When indeed. When did Curious George go from being a funny monkey to an irritating, misbehaving animal that really should be kept in a zoo?
