A Fairy Tale

Yesterday was one of those days when everything magically falls into place. When before you were married and before you had kids, what you imagined life would be like. First, Jr. was a trooper. Despite her snotty and red nose (I tried not to wipe it too often but when snot was getting into her mouth I couldn't leave it!) she was actually in a pretty good mood. She slept in till 8:30(!) and then we went shopping. When we got back I gave her lunch and she napped for 2 hours (!!!). When she woke up we went for a walk, soaking up the vitamin D. By then it was time for supper. After supper we watched some Golden Girls. (When Jr. was a few months old I used to sing the theme song all the time. I don't know why but it gave me comfort. Now when we catch the theme song on TV she always looks up expectantly and smiles. So if you're ever with Jr. and she needs to be calmed down...) After an episode and a half, Daddy came home! With flowers! And chocolates! We bathed Jr. together, put her down and she was out without a fuss! Hubby got ready for his Christmas party and I made myself dinner. While hubby was out, I watched Revenge (a TV show that AD got me into) while eating chocolates. When that was done I tucked myself into bed at 9:30pm! Isn't that the stuff dreams are made of??
Now before some of you turn off your computer and gag in disgust, let me assure you that this type of day is an anomaly. To give you an idea, while hubby and I were bathing Jr., I said, "Let's have another one! We can do it!" This is the kind of thing crazy people say. Crazy people, or drugged-up-on-happy-babies-and-thoughtful-husbands people. Anyone with two or more kids can attest to this. How else do you think the world continues to procreate??
I hope today is just as good but I'm not making bets. I know that reality is not always like that. BUT...
