Sometimes I put Baby down to sleep and sometimes she falls asleep so quickly I wonder if she's okay. Sometimes I put her down and she starts fussing so I give it at least 10 minutes before I go in. Then I go in and discover she's managed to get tangled up in her blanket, some of it covering her face, even though I swaddled her in it. [Yes, I know blankets are now a no-no for babies and infants, precisely for this reason. But I can't imagine sleeping in just pj's is enough to keep warm.] So I feel terrible that I let her struggle for 10 minutes. So if she falls asleep after fussing a bit, I start to get paranoid.
My sister posted this on Facebook and it's pretty apt:
Today she fussed for awhile (not even 10 minutes) and fell asleep but then I started thinking maybe she had suffocated or something horrific. I had to open her door to check. Yes, I was worried enough to risk waking her up! And it really is a risk because her door makes a lot of noise when it's opened and shut. It doesn't need to be oiled, it's just the wood expanding in the door frame. Most of the time that keeps me from checking but not today.
Phew! All's well that ends well...
aww...seeing them all quiet like that just warms your heart :)
