My sister, Malt_Soda, has been asking me to come with her to Aqua Stroller for quite some time. Something has always come up or I've had other plans. I was also nervous about it because I wasn't sure if Jr. would like it and just the thought of changing myself and my baby into and out of our bathing suits wasn't my idea of fun. Just the same, I wanted to give it a fair chance and today was the first time I was able to go.
What is Aqua Stroller? It's like Aqua Fitness: aerobics in the water. Except now you bring your baby with you and place them in a floating device (see below). It's actually kind of funny because you "park" them on the ledge of the pool while you exercise. We did do some exercises with them (using their floating device as a flutter board, for example) but for the most part, they were watching us exercise. I felt like I was on an exercise video, smiling like an idiot while exercising. Jr. is a very cautious baby so I kept smiling at her and talking to her so she would know that everything was okay. Her cousin, Jelly Bean, was laughing and splashing around. She kept looking at Jr. with a huge smile on her face as if to say, "Isn't this FUN??" Thankfully, Jr. didn't cry and she eventually warmed up to it! Yay! Jelly Bean was hilarious. She was bobbing her head to the music à la Night at the Roxbury but I think she was actually imitating my sister and I as we exercised!
Anyhow, I was exhausted by the end. I am so out of shape. Thankfully I was familiar with most of the moves because my mom and I used to go to Aqua Fitness all the time. So I signed up for the rest of the session.

Getting changed into our bathing suits, by the way, was fine. It wasn't so much fun afterward. She was cold and crying but there weren't enough changing tables for everyone so we got our babies dressed in our laps, which wasn't easy, particularly getting the diaper on. But I felt better when I noticed that just about all the babies were crying!

Glad you and Jr. had fun!
